I'm Anna, a home cook and recipe creator living in Saratoga Springs, New York, where the seasons are dramatic and the farmers markets are absolutely worth every chilly October morning.
I spend most of my time in the kitchen, apron on, usually with something bubbling on the stove and a half-eaten spoonful dangling in my hand while I figure out if it needs one more pinch of salt.
My approach to food is pretty simple: it should taste wonderful, it should be achievable on a Tuesday night, and it should make everyone at the table feel genuinely happy.
Outside the kitchen, I am a pretty ordinary person. I enjoy long walks along the Saratoga lake trails when the weather cooperates,I read more cookbooks than novels and I have a slightly embarrassing collection of wooden spoons .
My Expertise
My cooking skills did not come from a culinary school classroom. They came from years of feeding real people, making real mistakes, and learning exactly why things go wrong so I could make sure they go right for you. I test every recipe multiple times before it earns a place on this site, adjusting quantities, temperatures, and techniques until the results are consistent and reliable.
I have a particular obsession with writing recipes that are actually clear, because vague instructions are the number one enemy of a good home cook. My goal is always to make you feel capable and confident in your own kitchen, no matter your experience level.
My Journey
TasteByAnna started as a small personal project during a particularly snowy Saratoga Springs winter when I realized I had notebooks full of recipes that I kept sharing with friends and family over and over again. It made sense to put them somewhere permanent. What began as a digital recipe box slowly grew into something I genuinely love building and sharing.
Over the years my cooking has evolved from simple weeknight staples to a wider range of dishes across every category I love, while always staying true to the idea that great food does not have to be complicated. What keeps me motivated today is knowing that somewhere, someone is making one of my recipes for the first time and it is working out exactly as it should.
